Ebony, Customer Support
In this edition of Meet the Team, we asked our customer support lead, Ebony, to bring us to her favorite local business: Becycle. This gym specializes in high energy cycling classes choreographed to music that’s curated by local and international DJs. But that’s not all—they also accept card payments with SumUp. What inspires you?
“I think that—I don’t know, it’s very cheesy—but I think it’s love or passion. If I’m passionate about something or I can see someone else’s passion, it really inspires me. It can lead me to be more supportive of something or see it differently.”
Are you a regular somewhere and why?
“I am a regular somewhere. I like to be active, I feel like I have a lot of energy in life… so there is a studio here called Becycle, which is awesome. They have cycling classes, yoga, bar, and high interval training, and I absolutely love it. I go at least three times a week.”
If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
“To automatically and effortlessly solve any problem.”
Why do you like working at SumUp?
“The people. Definitely the people who I work with and who I work for. I also believe in what it is we’re doing… this whole vision to become a global brand. I really feel excited about that, and there’s just so much to do to achieve it. One of the biggest things that makes me happy everyday is to come into work.”
Give us one fun fact about yourself.
“I like to watch Japanese anime.”
What do you like about being a customer support lead?
“It’s never a dull moment. It’s always pretty busy… I don’t really have slow days, which helps keep it engaging.”
Do you prefer cats or dogs?
“Both! Why would you ever choose one over the other?"
