A card reader for every business

Whether you’ve chosen the Plus, Plus Bundle, or Solo Card Reader, believe that using your SumUp Card Reader should be simple and intuitive. Check out the SumUp Help Center to find step-by-step setup guides and helpful troubleshooting tips.

The Solo Card Reader is a standalone device, so you don’t need to pair the reader with your smartphone or tablet in order to track or process your payments. The Plus Card Reader is the only reader that needs an additional device in order to accept payments. Learn more about using the Plus with your smart devices here.

If you’re using an iOS device, you’ll need to make sure it has Bluetooth 4.0 and its operating system is iOS 12 or higher. On an Android device, you’ll need Bluetooth 4.0 and its operating system must be Android 6.x or higher.

All SumUp Card Readers are free from monthly and hardware costs. You only have to pay a standard 2.6% + 10¢ transaction fee whenever you take an in-person payment using your device.

All SumUp Card Readers and products accept major debit and credit cards, as well as NFC payment options. Choose from contactless, chip or swipe. You can find a full list of accepted cards here:

Once you’ve ordered your device, you’ll want to make sure you’ve completed your SumUp Account set up and business registration. Your device will arrive within 4-5 business days but won’t be able accept payments until your registration is complete and approved by our team.
