You can process transactions with the SumUp Air via the SumUp app, which pairs with your reader using Bluetooth.

The free SumUp app lets you create and manage an item catalogue, create multiple employee profiles, and keep records of all your transactions, including cash payments. You can download these records at any time.

All SumUp card readers accept payments via debit and credit cards, contactless payments, and Apple Pay or Google Pay.

After a one-time payment of £39 £29^*, there are no monthly fixed costs. You’ll only ever pay a 1.69% transaction fee whenever you complete a sale.

Yes. After you complete a transaction, you can send your customer a receipt via email or SMS. Simply tap on the transaction in question and enter your customer’s email address or phone number. 

We also support several handheld receipt printers, which connect to the Air via Bluetooth. Visit our support centre for more information on this.

SumUp card readers accept NFC payments in seconds thanks to a contact point in the display screen. Customers simply hold their card, smartphone, or smartwatch a few (3-4) centimetres from the contact point to complete payment. You’ll hear a beep if the payment succeeds.

Contactless payments adhere to the same security standards as chip & PIN payments. Occasionally, our card readers will ask customers to enter their PIN to prevent misuse, even for transactions below £100.

Several mechanisms prevent multiple cards from being charged at once. In order to initiate an NFC payment, the card or device needs to be held no more than 4cm away from the reader.
