Deposit cash easily – right where you shop

You can find participating retailers directly in the SumUp app. Simply head to Business Account → Add money → Cash deposit → “Where can I drop my cash off?” You'll find a map and a list of nearby shops where you can deposit cash.

Once you hand over your cash, funds will be credited to your Business Account within 10 minutes.

If you have a SumUp Business Account, the fee is 2.5% of the total deposit amount. If you have a Business Account Plus plan, this fee is reduced to 2%. No additional fees apply.

When you generate a cash deposit barcode in-app, the exact amount you'll receive after deductions is clearly displayed before you confirm.

Yes. Deposits are processed via a secure cash-in network, with multiple steps to ensure smooth and safe transactions.

• For each deposit, you generate a unique barcode via the SumUp app and verify with PIN or biometric data.

• The barcode represents your deposit only. It doesn't include your bank or Business Account number.

• Funds only arrive in your SumUp account after the store confirms the cash deposit – ensuring traceability and preventing fraud.

• You'll receive a receipt from the retailer as proof of deposit.

Deposit limits are as follows:

• Minimum per deposit: £20

• Maximum per deposit: £500

• Monthly deposit cap: £12,000

• Annual deposit cap: £52,000

If you reach any of these limits, the app will prevent you from generating more barcodes until the relevant period resets (following month or year).

No, everything happens via the SumUp app. You don’t need additional ID or a physical bank card.
