Online booking system: manage appointments, save time

SumUp Bookings is an online booking system with simple scheduling software, designed for beauty professionals. It helps you manage and organise appointments, reduce double bookings and cut down on costly no‑shows – from independent nail artists and lash techs to small salons and barbershops.

An online booking system lets clients reserve appointments themselves. With SumUp Bookings, your clients visit your booking page, choose a service and time, and send a request right away. Once you’re set up, your online booking system is available 24/7, so clients can book and manage their appointments even while you’re not working – helping keep your calendar clearer and busier, with fewer gaps.

Log in to SumUp with your existing profile and open Bookings. Follow the quick setup guide to add your services, working hours and basic rules. Core Bookings features are available with Free POS. POS Plus adds advanced features for managing teams, no-shows and customer communications. Choose the setup that works for your salon today and move to POS Plus later if you need more control.

With Bookings, you choose when your customers pay: at the time of booking or in-person. You can also set up deposits and cancellation fees (with Plus) to ensure your small business is not out of pocket if a client cancels last minute. If you enable payment at booking, customers can pre-pay with a credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal.

Clients use your online booking page to choose and manage appointments. They:

• Open your booking link – for example from Instagram, WhatsApp, your website or Google

• Select a service, date and time

• Add their details and an optional message

Depending on your settings, appointments are either confirmed automatically or approved by you first. Clients can then reschedule or cancel themselves within your policy.

You can access Bookings and all of its scheduling features in the SumUp Business app. All you need to do is download it from the App Store or Google Play. After logging in, you'll find Bookings in the Tools section of your profile. You can oversee appointments, handle payments and manage your calendar and staff all in one place.

We have two plans:

• Core SumUp Bookings features are included with the free Free POS plan. There are no monthly subscription fees. You only pay standard SumUp fees when clients pay online.

• POS Plus adds tools for salons and teams – like multiple staff calendars, SMS reminders and cancellation / no‑show fees – and unlocks more advanced POS features such as preset discounts, staff access controls and deeper reporting, for a monthly plan fee on top of the same online payment fees.
