(Senior) Product Manager - Reconciliation

Our vision as a global fintech company is to build the first-ever global card acceptance brand. We rely on local, autonomous, cross-functional teams that can take an aspect of our product and perfect it from concept to execution. 

We are currently looking for a (Senior) Product Manager for our Reconciliation squad.  

The Reconciliation platform ensures all the calculations in SumUp systems and the acquirers’ systems are accurate and in sync.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL:

As a Product Manager in the Reconciliation Squad you will have the opportunity to contribute to the core of SumUp’s product ecosystem - payment acceptance - by ensuring that SumUp has the necessary tools & processes to exercise financial control over merchants’ payouts and settlements from external financial institutions involved in card acceptance.

You will be responsible for the timely, accurate and fully compliant processes that enable merchant payouts and account for the related money flow. These processes include reconciliation, safeguarding and financial controlling, and you will work closely with the Operational teams that drive them today to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure full transparency for internal stakeholders and auditors alike.

Together with a local, autonomous and cross-functional squad, you will continue developing and improving a secure, scalable and mistake proof reconciliation platform and an accompanying back office and apply product discovery and delivery best practices to ensure that this platform grows with the speed at which SumUp attracts new customers and drives automation and efficiency that increases process accuracy and minimizes repetitive manual work.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Significantly reduce different manual operations done by PayOps and other teams, having a tangible impact on the operations costs and Ops teams satisfaction in SumUp

  • Evolve a reconciliation platform that satisfies various business requirements; drive the testing, implementation, and post-production support

  • Work efficiently with a team of developers, QAs, product designers and operational experts and manage stakeholders in the spirit of co-creation and mutual respect

  • Gather requirements and visualize user journeys, facilitate discussions and drive resolution of issues

  • Apply product delivery techniques and product development best practices to build the product right

  • Work with data (user & process data, business & system KPIs) comfortably and make data-informed decisions

  • You have 3+ years of experience in product management in an agile organisation, preferably in a similar business domain

  • You are fluent in English

  • Have expertise in reconciliation, auditing, accounting, payments or treasury

  • You have SQL skills. Skilled in reading, editing, and writing queries

  • Have experience with large-scale systems
