Senior Software Engineer (Golang) - Verification

We are looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join the team and lead the extension and integration of our Verification platform across all products and related systems within SumUp (risk scoring, manual onboarding, back-office). The Verification Squad is responsible for all KYC, KYB and other compliance-related checks that SumUp runs as part of user sign up and ongoing screen.

What you'll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you will be developing Golang-based services to implement business capabilities while working closely with other squads to integrate the Verification Platform within different products and systems across SumUp.

You'll be great for this role if you have

  • Ideally 5+ years relevant experience working on large scale distributed systems

  • Experience with Golang

  • Architectural awareness for systems that are dynamically evolving and are built to last - microservices, messaging (Kafka is a plus), API design, DB solutions, networking, scalability, monitoring, logging

  • You are an ambassador for communication and collaboration, embracing trust and respect to actively shape a healthy team and feedback culture

  • You have experience operating in a cloud environment, especially AWS

  • Experience working in Agile based software development lifecycle
