Product Analyst

Joining the Payments Tribe will be exciting for you, if you like to be part of a diverse team and work on the core of SumUp products, while drawing knowledge from a fast growing global team of analysts. 

Your mission is to think end to end, making sure that we are having a robust analytical journey. We will rely on your expertise to improve our analytical capabilities to allow smaller cycles of testing and implementation. You will work hands-on with the feature teams to improve the processes and make them more scalable.

Naturally, we have an analytics** stack but we are not limiting ourselves to it, ideas for changes are welcome:** PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Google BigQuery; Tableau, Google Data Studio.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging business problems.

  • You’ll identify and measure success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasts, experimentation and metrics monitoring.

  • You’ll influence and drive product roadmaps through insights and partner with cross functional teams in product and engineering to make informed decisions.

  • You’ll challenge and improve the overall KPIs and metrics of the whole platform and its individual components.

  • You’ll identify potential to improve our solutions, be part of experiments to learn what works and deliver small increments of value to our merchants.

  • You’ll provide insights in a consumer friendly way and establish a data culture, measuring what matters and acting upon facts.

 You'll be great for this position if

  • You’re curious and adaptable and like to think holistically as well as in detail.

  • You have an analytical mindset and enjoy having great autonomy in structuring your work as well as coming up with your own hypotheses

  • You are driven by curiosity and would use data to ask questions first before you provide hypotheses and reports. You are focused on the why and not on passive execution of reports, results of ad hoc requests.

  • Ideally, you would have 3+ years of work experience in BI or product.

  • You have strong SQL skills (using CTEs, window functions and subqueries, creating and maintaining analytical objects such as tables, views). 

  • You have worked with A/B testing and event tracking platforms before.

  • You have experience with Snowflake or are open to gain it.

  • You have experience

    with data visualization tools such as Tableau or others.

  • You know your tools and systems that work for you and can collaborate with software/product teams in terms of data requirements and data structure (for example designing events for Google Analytics or business events in the backend).

  • You are fluent in English - you'll be part of a truly global company.
