Fraud Prevention Strategy Manager

As part of the Risk & Fraud Prevention team you will play a fundamental role in building and leading the squad that will be responsible for taking our R&F prevention strategy to the next level. This team will be analyzing lots of data, creating new policies, partnering with stakeholders and helping SumUp become more efficient on this matter.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze possible vendors and implement a new score model for transactions

  • Increase fraud detection rate by supporting the team implement new rules with high hit rates in account and amount

  • Write procedures to create and give maintenance to rules at the decision engine

  • Lead proof of concept (POC) of new fraud prevention tools;

  • Validate new and existing score cut-offs proposed by the team;

  • Manage strategic KPIs of Brazil Fraud Prevention, driving decisions based on them;

  • Guide the diagnosis analysis squad, leading action plans to mitigate future frauds from patterns observed on approved frauds;

  • Work closely with Operations Fraud Prevention Manager to ensure alignment between the areas;

  • Financial planning to manage costs from fraud prevention tools in place, analyzing cost-benefit for SumUp.

You’ll be great for this position if

  • You have solid experience creating and managing fraud prevention strategy;

  • You have leadership experience;

  • You are graduated in Engineering, Statistics, Math, Physics or related areas;

  • You are a great communicator, being able to partner with and influence other leaders in the organization;

  • You get excited by the entrepreneurial, fast-paced, high-responsibility atmosphere of a growing fintech;

  • You have advanced English skills;

  • You have knowledge of SQL and Python.
