Internal Auditor Manager

We're looking to welcome to our team an Internal Audit Manager for the SumUp Group, based on our São Paulo office.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of operational, financial, and compliance audits, and will play an integral role in risk management and internal controls within the company. The position reports into the Global Head of Internal Audit and is crucial to strengthening SumUp's operations in Brazil.

The Internal Audit Manager will work closely with leaders across SumUp boards and audit committees to identify and mitigate risks, and provide valuable insights to improve our processes and procedures, supporting the overall business performance. You will play a critical role in delivering SumUps strategic objectives by objectively assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of governance and management of risks, giving an evidence-based opinion on all aspects of governance, risk management and internal control.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the internal audit function in Brazil, reporting to the Global Head of Internal Audit.

  • Develop a comprehensive internal audit plan for the year and conduct a thorough risk assessment.

  • Initiate and conduct operational, financial, and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational processes.

  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present your findings to top management, recommending improvements where necessary.

  • Work closely with various departments and external auditors, fostering a culture of compliance and internal control within the organization.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Global Head of Internal Audit.

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You have proven experience in an internal audit leadership role and are familiar with the Brazilian regulatory environment and internal controls.

  • You possess strong financial and operational audit skills, along with excellent knowledge of audit standards and risk management.

  • You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are a plus.

  • You have a strong command of data analytics tools and techniques.

  • You showcase strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • You are a person of high ethical standards and integrity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and drive change.

  • You are multilingual, with fluency in both Portuguese and English, and have experience working in a multinational environment.

  • You have strong negotiation skills and a proactive, innovative approach to problem-solving.
