Financial Reporting & Controlling Analyst

The Job

As part of the Controlling team, you’ll play a key role in the financial reporting and accounting world of SumUp. You would take over the accounting processes for the reporting area of all legal entities in scope, as well as supporting the SAP and reporting improvements, follow all global processes and routines applicable for the companies. We’re looking for an Financial Reporting & Controlling Analyst to help with day-to-day accounting activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintaining reporting files and records on a monthly basis;

  • Prepare Financial Statements to comply with Brazilian Central Bank GAAP and IFRS GAAP;

  • Prepare managerial reports to track the results monthly to share with internal stakeholders;

  • Responding to inquiries from business/customers and resolving issues;

  • Prepare Flash Report and discuss with FP&A the variances

  • Assist in the preparation of Accruals and Provisions

  • Support to external and internal audit

  • Prepare and build ad hoc reconciliations, reports and processes

  • Knowledge with COSIF chart of Account and CADOCs is a plus

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You have a degree in Accounting;

  • You have good knowledge of accounting in IFRS and BACEN GAAP

  • You have Excel ninja skills;

  • You have experience providing information and attending the external/internal auditors;

  • You have upper intermediate English.

  • ERP experience required (SAP S4/HANA is a plus)

  • You are creative and problem-solving;

  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience; 

  • Analytical skills and prior experience with reconciliations;

  • You are able to give technical guidance to junior staff;

  • Python and SQL to automate manual tasks and extract data would be greatly appreciated, but is a plus;

  • Previous experience at a Big4 company and with payment environments a plus.
