Payment Operations Specialist

Who you are:

SumUp is seeking an experienced Payment Operations Specialist to join our team in the El Paso office. The individual will work alongside our Risk and Payment Operations team and overall Operations team to support our merchants. As a company that seeks to revolutionize the payment, point-of-sale and loyalty systems market, we are looking for a person with excellent communication skills, empathetic, autonomous, and easy to adapt to change. 

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure the daily operations of our payment related processes

  • Research and reconcile payment and transaction related questions and escalations - including missing/incorrect deposits, ACH rejects, and adjustments

  • Manage the chargeback disputes and retrievals process, including merchant notification, representments and status tracking

  • Learn and assist with other functions of the Risk and Pay Operations team as required, including merchant onboarding and fraud prevention

  • Resolve cases of varying complexity from Salesforce queues effectively and efficiently

  • Provide input to drive continuous improvement in our processes

  • Maintain constant communication with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure case resolution and positive customer experience

What we're looking for:

  • Strong attention to detail and takes ownership in managing daily tasks from start to finish

  • Proactive and effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, both verbal and written

  • Self-motivated individual with the capacity to work autonomously and prioritize responsibilities effectively

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, organize, and interpret data to derive actionable insights

  • Previous experience in payment, banking, payment cards operations, or a similar area is preferred but not required

  • $17-$19/hr

  • Compensation will be finalized based on the candidate’s experience
