About the role
We are looking for a Transport Manager to take ownership of SumUp’s transport multimodal network: the flow of containers, trucks, air freights and final delivery to merchants around the world. You will make sure that SumUp’s card readers arrive on time at their different targeted destinations.
Our new colleague will manage a strong and reliable (but still young) network, touching every single aspect of Logistics and transportation. Any type of transport means you can think of… we use it. So our new Manager will deal with very broad and diverse operations, having to dig deep into the different flows and always find the best solution for every type of customer and stakeholder.
We are looking for someone with previous experience with transport operations. Additional knowledge in other areas like reverse logistics, warehousing or fulfillment will be a big plus.
What you’ll do
Manage the flow of containers coming from China, Hong Kong, and Singapore into Europe and the UK, controlling the product to arrive on time to our warehouses.
Inbound coordination with our warehouses for road transport of goods made in Europe.
Manage all our carrier and courier accounts in Europe and the UK making special emphasis on small parcel Logistics for Dangerous Goods.
Coordinate the flow of goods between our suppliers in Asia and Europe and the overseas SumUp entities in the USA, LATAM and APAC. Both ocean and air.
Coordinating and aligning with our internal sales departments, making sure SumUp offers the best transport solution for every external partner (small parcel, FTL, LTL).
Full ownership of the door-to-door process, including shipping packaging materials and consumables.
Support to Sales Teams and Supply Chain for new product launches: planning, transportation, inbound… Again both ocean and air.
Shipping invoice reconciliation working together with our Accounting team in Bulgaria.
Cost analysis, reporting and cost-saving opportunities development.
Monitoring overall KPIs and metrics on cost and service performance.
You’ll be great for this role if you have:
Experience managing/coordinating transportation networks of any kind (ocean, truck, small parcel)
Experience with carrier and freight forwarding management
Experience with SAP
Advanced Excel skills.
Autonomy and great communication skills in English with both internal and external stakeholders
Will be a plus: experience with other Logistics processes like warehousing and fulfilment, SQL and reporting.
Why you should join SumUp
Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team (we are 3000+ people from 80+ countries, spread across 4 continents)
28 days’ paid leave
Competitive salary package and virtual stock option programme
Flexible working hours
