Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will join the Supply Chain team which is part of the broader Hardware team. You will help improve the process and testing on the production line of SumUp’s proprietary products. 

You will be collaborating directly with the factories and SumUp’s R&D team. Your objective will be understanding the issues that are on the production line and working with different stakeholders to improve them.

About the team

You have probably used our card readers to buy a cappuccino or pay your hairdresser already. In Hardware, we are passionate about creating these beautifully designed card payment devices and accessories that enable our merchants to start, run, and grow their own businesses. In doing so, we deal with a diverse range of engineering topics - industrial and electronic design, embedded systems, all the way to mobile apps, backend services.

What you will do: 

  • Review current implementations of tests and processes on the production line

  • Investigate and identify test station issues

  • Review production line data and report it to the correct team

  • Help in new product introduction  testing and process creation

  • Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Definite of requirements for fixing assembly issues

You'll be great for this position if:

  • You have 3+years of experience in electronics hardware manufacturing.

  • You are able to read electronic and electrical circuits.

  • You have experience with Lean Manufacturing tools.

  • You are a problem solver - you enjoy identifying issues and areas for improvement and define a clear plan on how to solve them.

Nice to haves:

  • You have experience in new product introduction (NPI)

  • You have LabView knowledge

  • You’ve experience with Atlassian products
