Senior Sales Engineering Manager

As the Senior Sales Engineering Manager, you will be part of the EU Markets Tribe and play a key role in contributing to our ambitious goals to build a scalable product/customer focus organisation across all of SumUp’s operating countries. The Sales Engineering team drives engagement on SumUp's Developers page, our SDK & API product suite available globally, to SumUp partners and merchants to integrate. Also, the Sales Engineering team is responsible for bringing product concepts into the organisation which will be a great market fit and is viable for SumUp.

Having a strong Information Technology background, attention to detail and a love of mobile development, along with the ability to work independently and execute is key to success in the role.

You will be expected to engage on a daily basis with external developers and support them throughout the stages of the implementation process. When required, you will manage key accounts on technical solutions and operations.

What you will do:

  • Understand the customer journey, payments and technology associated and supporting functions around SumUp’s product

  • Engage with externals (Partners, integrators, contractors) to explain our product and solution whilst also providing feedback internally to our product and engineering teams to improve the product and services at SumUp

  • Solve complex technical issues for partners and clients using our integrated products, being the key point of contact for technical teams on the client side

  • Define the key product enhancements required for partners and high value merchants.

  • Enable online integrations and plugin providers to use SumUp, providing technical assistance

  • Collaborate with account managers to influence, develop and manage sales account strategies

You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have completed a bachelor's degree (Information Technology background required);

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years of work experience working in Solution design/ Engineering with domain knowledge in Payment processing, Acquiring or Merchant onboarding.

  • You must understand how integrations, APIs & SDKs work and how to implement them.

  • Experience with technical documentation and mobile development is required.

  • You are self driven, proactive, detail driven, pragmatic and have a can do attitude.

  • You have excellent presentation and language skills (verbally and written) in English.

  • You feel comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders.
