As we continue our investment in building outstanding tools for small businesses, the SumUp team is seeking an experienced Vice President, Product for our Hardware Tribe to contribute towards building an enduring organization and strengthen one of SumUp’s core pillars and flagship products. Our hardware products are owned by millions of merchants in 36 markets and are used every day by millions upon millions of consumers. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to take SumUp’s hardware portfolio and brand recognition to the next level.
You will oversee every stage of the product management lifecycle – from ideation and design to manufacturing and launch. You will also define how the teams grow and how we scale our ability to create new products from scratch. You will enable us to build upon the successes we achieved while helping us to strengthen our product development culture, capabilities and the health of the team. As a key member of the global Product leadership team, you will also contribute to SumUp’s overall strategic planning to support our future growth. With the large majority of the 100+ members (across all functions) of the Hardware Tribe based largely in our Berlin office, you will have the greatest impact in your role by being based full-time in Berlin as well.

What you’ll do
Shape and execute a unified Product vision and strategy for Hardware and drive the Hardware product roadmap: You turn product vision and strategy into well-articulated product requirements, using qualitative and quantitative data effectively to inform product direction and prioritization and deliver a consistent, world class experience for our merchants around the world.
Collaborate closely with the Hardware Tribe leadership team: Help define the broader business strategy, coach your colleagues on Product Management and challenge decisions from a Product perspective.
Empower and enable world-class Product teams: Attract, mentor, coach and develop Product Managers and be an authority alongside already very experienced team members. You will regularly assess the capabilities of teams and promote best in class Product Management practices.
Partner effectively with internal stakeholders in Product and Market functions across the organization and manage relationships with key external stakeholders.

You have a deep understanding of the product development lifecycle and best practices for effective Product Management and can advocate for them both in the Tribe and the broader organization
You have a proven track record of leading highly effective Product teams (with 10+ members) with a strong focus on delivery in fast-paced, interconnected, multi-product companies and distributed or service-based systems. You strive to build a culture of customer centricity and a strong Product mindset based on strong cooperation and innovation
You can demonstrate that you have mastered different leadership styles and know how to use situational awareness to keep your team moving forward in even the most complex situations. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to guide cross-functional and globally distributed teams and you know how to achieve success and buy in through influencing and collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Ideally, you have a deep understanding of the FinTech and/ or Hardware domain and issues faced by SumUp’s merchants
