Strategy Manager - CEO Office

Team Description

We are looking to hire a Strategy Manager for our CEO Office, to be based in Berlin with an initial onboarding period of 2-3 months in Boulder, CO, USA. As a Strategy Manager in our team, you will work closely with our VP of Strategy on SumUp’s most important global priorities, and focus for a few months at the time on driving them from conceptualization to merchant value. The role of the CEO Office is to support SumUp’s CEO with, but not limited to, analysis, planning and communication of current and future work.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze market trends, benchmark competitor’s processes and interview market participants to establish new best practices

  • Create and assess business cases, and suggest improvement areas to various business areas

  • Analyze existing processes, map gaps and co-create impactful improvements to bring many of SumUp’s cross-functional initiatives to reality

  • Provide strategic and operational recommendations to SumUp’s leadership on areas ranging from operations, marketing, pricing and product

  • Work with various stakeholders to execute derived strategies and create project plans considering all necessary conditions for their success

  • Project manage a diverse group of individuals from various areas of the company whilst carefully balancing co-creation and adhocratic leadership with pace-setting and timely delivery

  • Present updates on key projects under management with a clear assessment of risks, opportunities and impact

Your Profile

  • You have 4+ years of experience in Management Consulting or Investment Banking with exposure to FinTech

  • You have deep interest in examining data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound conclusions

  • You have project management skills and the ability to mobilize cross-functional teams towards common goals

  • You thrive in breaking down complex problems into digestible pieces of information and have experience turning them into reality in larger organizations

  • You are humble, willing to roll up your sleeves and comfortable with context switching

  • You will be working on lots of active work streams simultaneously, and you’re confident in your ability to remain level headed
