Senior Data Engineer (Enterprise Reporting)

About the team:

Join our Data Platform Team at SumUp and help build the future of data infrastructure! We’re building next-gen data infrastructure to support millions of businesses. Our mission is to develop automated, scalable, and reusable tools for distributed domains.Our team consists of three key subteams:

Data Streaming - Ensures a reliable Kafka and streaming infrastructure.

Data Movement - Manages data ingestion and extraction across various storages.

Data Gateway - Provides storage and access layers for diverse data needs.

What’s next? We’re forming a new subteam to develop an Enterprise Reporting Platform, empowering self-service data reporting for our key customers.Be part of starting something great from scratch!

What you’ll do

  • Support the existing enterprise reporting platform with thousands of reports running on a daily basis

  • Optimize the data models towards maintenance and scalability

  • Drive the development of the Enterprise Reporting Platform towards a full-fledge product

  • Collaborate directly with key account managers to design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines

  • Implement data quality checks and support on data investigation and troubleshooting

  • Enable a future-proof Reporting Platform from fixed daily report to hourly and on-demand dynamic reports

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software/Data Engineer and previous experience in managing an end-to-end data pipeline

  • Comfortable with at least one of our other centre-of-gravity languages (Go, Python) 

  • Proven experience with our data stack used in Enterprise Reporting Platform (DBT, Snowflake)  

  • Product-focused mindset with a strong emphasis on creating impactful solutions

  • Proactive in creating documentation, Request For Comments (RFC), Solutions Designs
